Stating it is based on Unity engine (source) is correct information. This time the most interesting feature is that it is totally free. And since we can only get the Pro or Indie version, unless we pay UT a truckload of money, stating it used Unity, is missinformation. Need For Speed World is the name given to the latest racing experience by the hands of EA. Look for that other MMO build on the Unity foundation, fusion fall, it was also done with the source version of Unity, since the pro edition lacked the features and optimization required for the project. Which is practically impossible with the Pro version. Is quite false, since it would imply everyone could clone this kind of games easily. So bringing out the news, EA uses Unity blablabla Furthermore i noticed ScaleformFX menus/huds added, which can be only used if you had the source of UNity. Also the render must have undergone very much optimization, Unity does not deliver out of the box, (high res details and high FPS all at the same time. I'm very sure of this, since Unity by itself is not MMO geared, and the networking blocks are not optimized for it out of the box. So they have heavily modified the engine to their needs, making it technically a spinoff engine, and not the unity engine as standard package. Right, but keep in mind, EA used the SOURCE license, not the pro version.
